Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF)

CMF logo

The Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) is a ministry for men of the church and led by men of the church. We are involved in many areas in the life of the church. We belong to the Southeast District of CMF that has a membership of eleven churches in southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina . The district meets on quarterly basis while the CMF at FCC meets monthly.

The CMF sponsors the Directors' Cabin at Camp Caroline. We are responsible for upkeep on this cabin. Camp Caroline is about two and a half hours by car from Wilmington. When work needs to be done there is a group of men that go together to accomplish the task and to fellowship.

The CMF sponsors a scholarship program for college students that wish to take religion classes during their school tenure. The scholarship is currently aiding three of FCC's own while in seminary. The overseers of the scholarship fund are JC Davis, Darrell McHaney, and Tim Whitehead. Each student is allowed up to $500 per semester upon written request and approval. This year the CMF assisted with the cost of attending the General Assembly for two of our seminarians and assisted another seminarian with a South Africa cooperative study this summer. The scholarship fund is funded through fund raiser projects by the CMF.

The CMF are involved with service projects in the church and community. Church members often receive help from the CMF to move, clean yards, and other necessary tasks that require muscle. The community benefits from the CMF through the Woodlot Program. This program provides heat to households that heat with wood.

Fund raising projects have included auctions, fish frys, and barbecues to provide operating expenses for the CMF. The CMF does not receive an operating budget from the church. This year marks an attempt to expand our fund raising repertoire by adding an apple sale and pecan sale. No fund raiser can be successful without the support of the church and the community. We have been pretty successful in the past thanks to the church and the community.

The best part about the CMF is the fellowship. We get together for meals, Bible study and go on retreats together. The annual fall retreat at Christmount, usually the third weekend in September, gives us opportunity to fellowship together and with other men's groups from around the state. We have a good time in Bible study, service projects and playing the traditional round of golf at Black Mountain Country Club (try your luck at the Par 6 700+ yard 17th!).

We invite all the men of the church to join with us and get to know each one of us better, but to also know Christ better too.

Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)

The Christian Women's Fellowship is a ministry for women of the church and led by women of the church. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the Church of Jesus Christ.

The CWF is involved in many different service projects and outreach. These projects include Council of Evangelical Churches of Columbia (our global partner), Woman-To-Woman (we send a woman to a country to do a mission study), Blessing Boxes, Inman Christian Center, collect Campbell soup labels to help Christmount, Camp Agape, Hospice "Meals of Love", Samaritan's Purse, Salvation Army Christmas Stockings, and Valentine boxes are sent to all college students of the church.

The General meetings of the CWF are for all ladies of the church. We also have Circle meetings (small groups) that are held monthly and all women are invited to participate in any circle they choose.
