Ordination Service for Christopher Furr

On March 19, 2006, we celebrated the ordination of one of our young members, Christopher Furr, into the Christian ministry. Christopher graduated from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. At the ordination service, the speakers included Rev. Kathy Reinger, the former associate minister of FCC; Rev. Dr. John Richardson, Regional Minister of North Carolina; Rev. Dr. William Barber of Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, NC where Christopher served during one of his internships; and our minister, Rev. Lance Perry. Also, members of both First Christian Church and Greenleaf Christian Church, family, and friends recounted memories and thoughts of their time spent with Christopher. A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the service.
